Volunteer
We rely entirely on volunteers and are looking for volunteers in the areas listed below. If you are interested, please email us at surreycats@shaw.ca.
Fundraising and Special Events
We need energetic people to help with special events, promotions, and fundraising. These cat lovers seek out fundraising opportunities, apply for grants, coordinate events, conduct online auctions, craft items for sale, and handle donations and sales, all to help cats in need and their people.
Communications
Wonderful wordsmiths and graphic artists are welcome to join our cause! Have fun joining others preparing social media posts, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and working with graphics and photographs to promote the work of the foundation.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
We humanely trap feral cats and kittens and transport them to veterinary clinics for spay/neuter surgeries and then to foster homes, shelters, or return them to their colony. TNR is involves intense, direct contact with cats and kittens. Trappers also work directly with the public and local veterinarians and their staff. Volunteers must have their own car and be reliable, patient, and able to interact positively with a variety of people. Prior experience with cats, especially feral cats, is beneficial but not mandatory. Training is provided, along with all materials and supplies. Hours vary but are generally in the evening.
(This program is presently on hold.)
