Volunteer

We rely entirely on volunteers and are looking for volunteers in the areas listed below. If you are interested, please fill out the Volunteer Application Form

Drivers

We need volunteers to drive cats and kittens to and from veterinary hospitals for our spay/neuter program (please read Driver Responsibilities before applying). We also need drivers to pick up and drop off donated food for our cat food bank.

Fundraising and Special Events

We need energetic people to help with special events, promotions, and fundraising.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)

We humanely trap feral cats and kittens and transport them to veterinary clinics for spay/neuter surgeries and then to foster homes, shelters, or return them to their colony. TNR is involves intense, direct contact with cats and kittens. Trappers also work directly with the public and local veterinarians and their staff. Volunteers must have their own car and be reliable, patient, and able to interact positively with a variety of people. Prior experience with cats, especially feral cats, is beneficial but not mandatory. Training is provided, along with all materials and supplies. Hours vary but are generally in the evening.

Foster Parents

We are looking for volunteers in Surrey to foster cats and kittens, providing them with care, attention, and love until they are adopted. We provide the food, supplies, and equipment as well as ongoing support and advice. Fostering is done through the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association. For more information on fostering, visit VOKRA's Fostering page
