Hungry cats in Surrey and White Rock are meowing for food

The Surrey Community Cat Coalition (SCCC) is requesting the public’s help to feed hungry cats in Surrey and White Rock.

The Coalition works with the Surrey Urban Mission, Sources South Surrey Food Bank, and 25 veterinarians and pet supply stores in Surrey and White Rock to provide cat food to pet owners and community volunteers who need help feeding the cats in their care.

But food donations have slowed down.

“We collect about 400-500 lbs of donated cat food every month,” says Lubna Ekramoddoullah, President, SCCC. “But it’s never enough. Our food bank gets dangerously low many times during the year, and that’s when we need to reach out to the public.”

The SCCC can take both canned and bagged cat food as well as opened bags of food, as long as the label is legible.

A list of drop-off locations can be found on our Donate Food page.
