It's well into kitten season, and the Surrey Community Cat Coalition (SCCC) is fundraising for its spay/neuter program for low income residents to prevent the number of homeless kittens from rising.
Since the program launched last year, the SCCC has helped more than 175 families spay and neuter 240 cats. But there is often a wait list due to lack of funding.
“As more people hear about our program, the more applications we receive,” says Lubna Ekramoddoullah, President, Board of Directors for the SCCC. “We often have a wait list because we rely on donations from the public, and we spend those funds quickly. We want to help all cats in need, and we hope the community will continue to show their support at our first Pawb Night.”
Join the SCCC at its “Pawb” (Pub) Night on June 24 at 7 pm at The Sundowner Pub, 11970 64 Avenue, Delta. Tickets are $20. Contact surreycats@shaw.ca or 778-589-8552 for more information.
