Local store helps feed hungry cats in Surrey

Cat food donations to the Surrey pet food bank are getting a boost this Saturday with a Pet Food ‘N More in-store food drive.

After food donations halted last December, volunteers with the Surrey Community Cat Coalition have been working hard to ensure donations continue all year round. As part of that effort, Pet Food ‘N More in Newton is holding a food drive on May 7.

“We don’t ever want to be in that situation again where our food bank has no cat food to give to the low income residents who rely on those donations to feed cats in their care,” says Lubna Ekramoddoullah, Manager, Surrey Community Cat Coalition. “Pet Food ‘N More and their customers were some of our biggest donors in December. It didn’t surprise me when they decided to hold a spring food drive for us. ”

“We’re happy to help cats in need,” says Heather Livingstone, Regional Manager, Pet Food ‘N More. “For each donation made during the event, Pet Food ‘N More will donate a can of FirstMate Cat Food.”

The public is invited to the event and asked to bring or purchase at the store canned and/or dry cat food to donate. There will also be raffle prize draws, free cupcakes and chocolate, and in-store specials.

Event Details Saturday, May 7 12-4 pm (store open 9 am to 7 pm) Pet Food ‘N More 400-7380 King George Blvd
