Help raise $10,000 for cats and kittens in need!

Join us for our Surrey Cat Walk fundraiser on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Surrey Bend Regional Park.

The walk is 5 km, with a 2 km option for those who would like to do a shorter walk.

Registration begins at 11:00 am, and the walk starts at 11:30 am, with food and games afterwards. There will also be goodie bags, a prize for the top fundraiser, and a participant raffle draw.

Our goal for the Surrey Cat Walk is to raise $10,000, which will go towards spaying and neutering cats in need. As a volunteer-run charity, we rely on the public to raise funds to help us promote the welfare of cats through rescue, spay/neuter, and public education.

Step 1. Register

Register online by buying a ticket on Evenbrite by September 9 at 12 pm.

The early bird registration fee if you register online by August 31 is $20. If you register online September 1-9 or in person on September 10, the fee is $25.

Your registration fee includes a light lunch and a swag bag with goodies and a prize draw ticket.

Kids under 12 years old are free.

Step 2. Collect pledges

Ask your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours, your vet, and others to support you in walking for Surrey cats and kittens.

You can collect donations in two ways:

  1. Set up your own CanadaHelps fundraising page online. It can be hard to ask for money in person, but an online giving page makes it simple for your friends and family to support you. Donors will automatically receive a tax receipt through CanadaHelps. If you need help to set up a page, read
How to Set Up a CanadaHelps Fundraising Page.

  2. Print out a Pledge Form and collect donations in person. Hand in your completed pledge form and money to us at the walk. We can issue tax receipts for donations of $20 or more, so if your sponsors would like a tax receipt, please ensure all their information is filled out on the form.

We have put together some Fundraising Tips to get you started.

Step 3. Walk with us on September 10 and celebrate

Bring your pledge forms and donations to the walk – rain or shine, but hopefully shine! You’ll meet our dedicated volunteers and other people like yourself who care about helping cats and kittens in Surrey. Together, we'll celebrate the difference you're making in their lives!

Please gather pledges and donate generously. Every dollar helps!

Here's how donations will help:

  • $40 provides flea treatment for one cat

  • $65 treats a wound

  • $115 pays for neuter surgery for a male cat

  • $200 pays for spay surgery for a female cat

Can't make it to the walk? Make a donation now!

If you can't walk with us or collect pledges, please consider making a donation through our CanadaHelps page by using the button below. There are also other ways to donate. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my children? Do I have to register them or buy tickets for them?
Children are welcome to come and are encouraged to collect pledges! Kids under 12 years old are free, but regular ticket prices apply to kids aged 12 and over.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the walk?
The park has free parking. Unfortunately, it is not easily accessible by public transit, so we recommend you carpool with friends. Download driving directions.

What should I bring to the walk?
We have reserved a 75-seat sheltered picnic bench, but prepare for the weather - hat, sunscreen, water bottle, good walking shoes, and possibly (but hopefully not) rain gear.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have a list of people who registered online. If you didn't register online, please bring your $25 registration fee with you.

What time should I arrive to the walk?
Please arrive between 11:00 am and 11:20 am, so we can register you and take your donations. We'll also take a group photo just before the walk starts at 11:30 am. There will be food and games after the walk.

How long will the walk take?
The shorter walk is 2 km and will take 30 minutes. The longer walk is 5 km and will take an hour for the average person. More information about Surrey Bend Regional Park can be found on the park website.

Can I bring my dog/cat/friend?
Dogs are welcome on a leash, but it's best if cats stay at home. We encourage your friends to register for the walk.
